Story behind the piece:
This duet for violin and piano is based on my song sequence taking various haikus by Matsuo Basho. The scales used are Western equivalents to various modes in the Japanese system, especially the "Okinawa scale"



Here is the original song on poems by Basho (sung in a sort of attempted phonetic Japanese by the composer!)
